Mystery of the HIDDEN Library Book; an ENGAGING Overdue Book Notice

My first-ever library product has just been listed on Teachers Pay Teachers!

If you’re like me and dislike overdue book notices that have a demanding tone and move straight to an “or else” consequence, then this engaging note that invites students to search for their “hidden” library book and then share where they found it super-sleuth style might be right up your alley! My first draft of this note was well-received by students and their families and resulted in books returned sooner rather than later (or never) with students still feeling eager to continue to borrow and read more books.

Students can grow good borrowing skills without librarians being negative Nellies!

Included in this pack are two half-page versions of a hidden book note, two half-page versions of a hidden books (plural) note, and two printables for display signage. Notes can be printed in black and white, cut in half and sit at the ready for students who need to deduce the location of their book(s) while the display  signage can be printed in color.

Thanks to Whimsy Clips for the cute clipart!
